Configure Maximum Fee PolicyConfigure Maximum Fee PolicyThe Configure Maximum Fee policy is a Global Configuration policy that is read by the WorkFlows client at startup and stored as a global variable. This policy determines whether or not the Maximum Fees by Groups feature is configured on the system, and if configured, how it is implemented.
In some libraries, users are charged a fee for overdue items, regardless of how many items are overdue. Furthermore, these fee amounts are applied differently for different types of users (such as adults and children), and graduated fee levels are applied for the length of time overdue (such as one week, two weeks, and over 30 days). In SirsiDynix Symphony, the fee amounts and graduated fee levels are defined using the Maximum Group Fee wizard. How the maximum fees are applied is defined using the Fee Map wizard. The Configure Maximum Fee policy appears on the Circulation tab of the Global Configuration wizard. The default value for this policy appears in the Select a Policy window. To modify this value, select Configure Maximum Fee and click Modify. Click a radio button to select one of the policy attributes. Click Save to save your selection. The default is Maximum Fee Policy Is Not Implemented.

Click this option to disable the Maximum Fees policy. This option is selected by default.

Click this option to implement the Maximum Group Fees policy. Maximum fees will be charged on items with the same discharge date, charge date and loan period.
Maximum Fee Policy Is Based On Discharge Date Only
Click this option to implement the Maximum Group Fees policy. Maximum fees will be charged on items with the same discharge date only.
Maximum Fee Policy Is Based On Discharge Date and Charge Date
Click this option to implement the Maximum Group Fees policy. Maximum fees will be charged on items with the same discharge date and charge date.
Maximum Fee Policy Is Based on Discharge Date and Loan Period
Click this option to implement the Maximum Group Fees policy. Maximum fees will be charged on items with the same discharge date and loan period.
