Confirm Shipping for Exchange Library Wizard

The Confirm Shipping for Exchange Library wizard is used to confirm your shipment for an exchange library.

Once you have accumulated all of the items you want to send to an exchange library or the system has fulfilled its quota, you can confirm shipment. Confirming shipment removes the exchange library from the priority list, changes its status to inactive, and resets counters. You do not have to reach the quota to confirm the shipment of the collection.

Based on the verification setting SirsiDynix Symphony has configured for Collection Exchange for your library system, items will either go intransit to the destination library or will immediately be in Exchange. When verification has been configured for your system, items are sent in transit by the Confirm Shipping wizard. The destination library can scan the items they have received using the Receive Items In Transit wizard to move items from the In Transit status to an In Exchange status. When verification has not been configured for your system, items will have a status of In Exchange at the destination library after confirming shipment.

If your library did not select the Verify command, the status will be updated to In Exchange, and the call library will display with the new library associated with this exchange library. The call library is also updated when you receive items in transit.

You have chosen to ship all pending shipping items and keep the exchange open. All pending items have been confirmed for shipment. This exchange remains open and the library is still active.

Important Considerations When Using this Wizard

The Shipping Notice Report can be produced by selecting the, Produce Shipping Notice Report helper if you have selected the helper property. You can then view the report by selecting the View Shipping Notice Report helper.
The Keep Exchange Open box is cleared - You will not check this option when you would like to ship items and close the exchange with the selected library. All pending shipping items will be confirmed for shipment to the destination library, the exchange will be closed, and the library is deactivated.
The Keep Exchange Open box is checked - You will check this box when you would like to send a partial shipment. When you are working with a large amount of items, you might want to ship the items that you have already prepared while waiting to finish processing items that are not yet ready for shipment. When you confirm shipment and keep the exchange open, all pending shipping items will be sent to the destination library. The exchange will remain open and the library will remain active.
The Exchange State helper displays Exchange State Information on the items you are exchanging.
You can confirm shipping of an exchange library regardless of whether it is active or not. Active libraries display at the top of the list, followed by inactive libraries.
Items that are checked out, have holds, or are currently in transit are unable to be shipped and appear in a list of ineligible items once the wizard has confirmed shipment.
