Library Group Wizard

The Library Group wizard is used to define groups of libraries that will be used in the Bill Display Libraries, Bill Maintenance Libraries, Pay Maintenance Libraries, Circulation Libraries, Hold Group Libraries, User Display Libraries, and User Maintenance Libraries attributes of the Library policy.

The group ALL_LIBS is a delivered value and contains all libraries on the system. A library can belong to more than one group; however, only one group can be selected in the maintenance and display attributes of the Library policy.

From the List Policies window, you can create, display, modify, copy, or remove the Library Group policies. Click Close to exit the wizard.

Attributes

The Library Group wizard displays the following attributes.

Name

This attribute uniquely identifies a Library Group policy. This name is ten characters or less, and may not include spaces or punctuation, except for dash (-), underscore (_), and dollar sign ($). Additionally, the pipe character (|) may not be used.

Important: Do not name a library group the same as a Library policy name.

The names ALL, ALL_LIBS, and HERE are reserved by SirsiDynix Symphony and should not be used.

Description

This attribute provides more information about the policy and its use by the library. The description may be up to 60 characters in length. Although the Description attribute may contain spaces and punctuation, the pipe character (|) cannot be used.

Libraries

This attribute lists the Library policy names of the libraries to be included in the group. Use the Policy List gadget to select libraries. If you leave this text box blank, then no libraries will be selected.

If your system is configured to use the Order Hold Fill feature, this gadget will allow you to control the order of the libraries in the List Selected pane. Use the up and down arrows to move library names up or down the list.

Honor Order of Libraries in Group for Holds

If your system is configured to use the Order Hold Fill policy, this check box is visible. If you select this option, the List Onshelf Items with Holds report will honor the order of libraries listed in the Library Group policy defined in the Ordered Hold Fill policy when selecting items to fill holds. This lets you set up specific transit/delivery routes for hold filling.

BLUEcloud Commerce Account

This attribute defines the BLUEcloud Commerce Account policy to use if a library in the library group does not have a BLUEcloud Commerce Account defined in its own policy. SirsiDynix e-Library uses this policy to support BLUEcloud Commerce online bill payment services. For more information on BLUEcloud Commerce Account policies, see BLUEcloud Commerce Account Wizard.
