Gateway Wizard

A Gateway policy is a set of individually configured elements which represent choices and windows in the e-Library. Each set of elements (or choices and windows) can be tailored to individual users based on the environment linked to their logins. These sets of elements are arranged in a hierarchical “tree” structure and are stored in a Gateway Database Wizard policy.

The Gateway policy (which is connected to the user record via the Environment policy) defines what choices are available to the user, such as the types of catalog searches the user may perform or what connections the user can make through the Knowledge Portal and how the connections are made.

From the List Policies window, you can display, modify, copy, or remove the Gateway policies. Click Close to exit the wizard. To create a new gateway, copy an existing gateway, then modify the new gateway.

The UNICORN Gateway is delivered for the e-Library client. This Gateway should not be modified since updates to the SirsiDynix Symphony software may overwrite any changes a user makes to the UNICORN Gateway. Instead of modifying the UNICORN Gateway, use the Copy operation to copy, then modify the new gateway. Additionally, the SirsiDynix Symphony Gateway is delivered for the WebCat clients. Again, to make changes, copy the SirsiDynix Symphony gateway, and modify the new gateway.
