Rebuild Heading Databases Report

The Rebuild Heading Databases (Rebuildheading) report removes and recreates the heading index from the SirsiDynix Symphony database, which is used for subject heading display and browsing. Once this report is run, the keyword indexes will return incorrect hits from a browse reference until the Rebuild Text Database report is run.

Important Considerations When Running This Report

When this report is run on the Windows platform, the workstation server is stopped at the beginning of the report and restarted automatically when the report finishes. Users cannot access SirsiDynix Symphony using WorkFlows or the e-Library while the SirsiDynix Symphony server is stopped. Do not restart the SirsiDynix Symphony server manually while this report is running.
When this report is run on UNIX platforms, the SirsiDynix Symphony workstation server must be stopped before starting the report, because a new database is created when the report starts. Once the report has started and the database is rebuilding, you can restart the workstation server but do not allow staff to create, modify, or delete records while the report is running.
Sites running Oracle with large databases should consider turning off Oracle Archiving while this report runs.
The results of this report are embedded in the report log. Do not select to view, print, or email results only, or the system will return an error message. In the View Finished Reports window, if you select the View Results check box but do not select the Format Report check box, WordPad may open and begin the unformatted report output with the following formatting text.
