Multiple Processes Selection

This selection is available for SirsiDynix Symphony for Oracle systems only, and for large systems that run on a multi-CPU (central processing unit) server. This selection distributes report processes across multiple processors. Type a numeric value in the Multiple Processes Selection text box, and the headings keys (internal database numbers) are split into that number of groups, then several heading rebuild programs are run simultaneously, each with its own group of keys, on a separate processor. If your library has a multi-CPU server, the recommended value is the number of processors +1. This selection provides optimal performance. Making a selection for running multiple processes should reduce the amount of time required for running rebuild reports.

On SirsiDynix Symphony for ISAM systems, selecting this option during report scheduling has no effect.
