User records that were added in Offline WorkFlows are not searchable until the Add, Delete, Update User report is run on the library server.
The main goals of using Offline WorkFlows are to check out material to registered users, register new users, and to receive and process returned material in an offline mode, when you are unable to connect to the SirsiDynix Symphony server. The Offline WorkFlows feature is delivered as part of the WorkFlows Client for the Java Platform™. To enable Offline WorkFlows, select the Operate in Offline Mode check box on the Configuration Login window.
The following conditions apply to Offline WorkFlows:
| • | Offline WorkFlows can only record activities based on the commands that it can perform. |
| • | Offline WorkFlows must have either an item ID or call number/copy, and/or a user ID. |
| • | Offline WorkFlows cannot search or display information from the SirsiDynix Symphony database about items or users, since the workstation is temporarily disconnected from the server where all information is stored. |
| • | The data used by Offline WorkFlows is automatically uploaded and downloaded when the SirsiDynix Symphony WorkFlows client next connects to the server. |
| • | When using Windows roaming user profiles in Offline WorkFlows users must either use a single direct login per workstation or ensure that only one user is logged in per roaming profile. Due to the nature of roaming user profiles, users risk losing some offline circ data by having multiple users logged in to a single roaming profile on multiple workstations. |
| • | When the data is loaded into SirsiDynix Symphony, each recorded transaction is performed as if library staff were at a regular workstation. Errors result when an activity recorded at an offline workstation would have been blocked or would otherwise fail when done in a real SirsiDynix Symphony database. |

Session Settings may display as the first step of some wizards. Click OK to accept the default values.
