Offline WorkFlows Session Setting Wizard Fields

The following fields and check boxes are used in the Offline WorkFlows Session Setting wizard.

Current Date

When you start the workstation, you can set the date that will be stamped on the transactions that are recorded during this session of Offline WorkFlows while the SirsiDynix Symphony server cannot be accessed. By default, the date that the client is started is used. This date should not be changed, but the Calendar gadget can be used if another date must be set. Transactions are appended in each library’s file, so you could use Offline WorkFlows for several days and maintain an accurate date for each transaction.

Current Time

When you start the workstation, you can set the start time that will be stamped on the transactions that are recorded while the SirsiDynix Symphony server cannot be accessed. By default, the time that the client is started is used. This value is not static, but the time should not be changed. The time of each transaction regardless of the time specified at login will be based on your PC’s clock. Use the Time gadget to display military time notation in standard time.

Default Due Date Field

When you start the workstation, you can set the default date that will be stamped on checkout transactions that are recorded while the SirsiDynix Symphony server cannot be accessed. By default, the date that was entered the last time the client was started is displayed. Specify a default due date if you want all materials to be due on the same date. Otherwise, leave the Default Due Date field blank so that the due date is calculated at the time the offline transactions are uploaded to the server.

Library Field

The Library you select will be the library associated with the transactions that are ultimately loaded. This field is required.

Log Directory Field

In a offline login screen, the Log Directory allows you to select where the log file directory to which the log file will be written as data is collected on the Offline WorkFlows client. This field defaults to the \Sirsi\Workflows\LOG directory in the home directory of your login, which is typically \Documents and Settings for Windows workstations. Use the Select Directory gadget to select a directory.

Review Settings for Each Session

Select the Review Settings for Each Session check box to allow values to be set for each offline session.

Use User Delinquent List File Field

If a user delinquency file had been previously downloaded into the \Sirsi\Jwf\Configure directory on the PC, the date that the user status file was last generated is displayed. Select the Use User Delinquent List File check box if the delinquency file was recent enough.

If you do not use the user delinquent list file, all users are considered to have OK status. This means that users who currently have a BLOCKED or BARRED status will be able to check out items when Offline WorkFlows is used for circulation transactions. When the SirsiDynix Symphony server becomes available, the transactions for the BLOCKED or BARRED users are transferred to the server when the WorkFlows client connects to the server. When the Load Offline Transactions report is run on the server, the BLOCKED or BARRED user status is first changed to OK. The transactions for the user are added to the SirsiDynix Symphony database, then the user status is returned to BLOCKED or BARRED. This feature of the report prevents the transactions from failing and the loss of the charge information in libraries that do not use the delinq file.

User Access Field

This field references the User Access policy of the operator or user performing the function. User Access policies are central to the security of the SirsiDynix Symphony system. The User Access policy associated with a user record determines which utilities and wizards are available to that user. This field is required.

The user access you select will be the user access associated with the transaction that is ultimately loaded. To change the user access while in Offline WorkFlows, you must log out and log back in with the new user access.
