History Tab

The History tab displays outreach history information for the user. The History tab may contain the following fields.

The History tab displays only if the Outreach Services module is configured.

To customize the history information display, configure the History Display property in the Display History, Modify History, and Remove History wizard properties.

From the User Display wizard, the History tab displays the title/author, date charged, status, as well as the total number of all histories.

The following fields are defined for the History tab.

Histories

This read-only counter field displays the number of histories a user has. This histories counter usually displays at the top of the List of History Records table.

Title

This field contains the main title of an item that is attached to the history record. The title displays using initial capitalization. This field is cataloged using the 245 tag.

If this field is blank, the associated item may have been removed from the database. The following message will display if this item’s history is selected to be modified.

Author

This field contains the author of an item that is attached to a history record. This field is cataloged using the 1xx field and can be a personal, corporate, or government name. Added or secondary authors display in 7xx fields.

Status

This field contains history status information of an item using one of the following values.

Select - This item has been selected for this outreach user, but has not yet been charged.
Reject - This item has been rejected by either the library staff or the user, and should not be reselected for this outreach user.
Unselect - This item has previously been selected for this outreach user, but it should not be delivered or shipped at this time.
Charge - This item has been charged to this outreach user. The item may be currently charged to the user, or it may have been charged to the user and since been discharged.
Discharge - This item has been returned from the user. The item is discharged with the Discharge/Checkin wizard, which will set the item back to its regular location.

Library

This field determines the library where an item is held, and where the user is registered in a multilibrary setting. Library field values are defined in the Library policies set up by your SirsiDynix Symphony system administrator. The Library field does not display in a single library system.

Call Number

This field contains the call number of an item that is attached to the history record. The call number made up of numbers and/or letters assigned to an item according to a particular classification scheme. It determines the item’s placement in the library collection.

Copy

This field identifies the specific copy on an item that is attached to the history record. The Copy field is also called Copy Number, and contains a number used to distinguish among multiple copies with the same call number.

Interest

This field contains the name of the interest profile associated with an item that is attached to the history record.

Item ID

This field, also referred to as ”barcode,” uniquely identifies an item. The Item ID is typically the human readable number on the item’s barcode. The item ID can be up to 20 characters in length.

Repeat

This required check box indicates whether items selected from the interest profile in the Interest field can be reselected at a later date.

Interval Days

This field contains a number from 1-32,767 to indicate the number of days that must elapse before this item can be reselected for the same user.

This field is automatically supplied from the related interest profile, unless the history record has been directly created in the workstation. This default value may be modified if this particular item should use a different Interval Days value from other items selected from the related interest profile.

Note: This field is only used by SirsiDynix Symphony if the Repeat option is selected.

Date Charged

This field displays the date on which the item was most recently charged to the current user. If the user is an outreach user who has never charged this item, this field will contain the value of NEVER.

Date Created

This field displays the date that the history record was created or duplicated, not the date the associated item was created. This date is automatically maintained by SirsiDynix Symphony, and cannot be modified manually.

Date Shipped

This field contains the date that this item was delivered, shipped, or picked up by the user.

Note: This date is set by the Set User Delivery, Skip Date and the Set Route Delivery, Skip Date reports.

Date Modified

This field contains the date that the history record was last modified, not the date that the associated item was modified. For history records that have not been modified since their creation, the field displays a value of NEVER. This date is automatically maintained by SirsiDynix Symphony, and cannot be modified manually.

Times Charged

This field displays a count of the number of times this outreach user has charged this item. The field is automatically maintained by SirsiDynix Symphony, and cannot be modified manually.
