Allow Edit Of Item Current Location PolicyAllow Edit Of Item Current Location PolicyThe Allow Edit of Item Current Location policy is a Global Configuration policy that is read by the WorkFlows client at startup and stored as a global variable. This policy determines whether or not users can edit the Current Location of an item.
This policy appears on the Cataloging tab of the Global Configuration wizard. The default value for this policy appears in the Select a Policy window. To modify this value, select Allow Edit of Item Current Location and click Modify. Click a radio button to select one of the policy attributes. Click Save to save your selection. The default value is Item Current Location May Not Be Edited, and the Current Location field appears in cataloging wizards as read-only.
It is not recommended that you change the default value for this policy. SirsiDynix Symphony is designed so that the current location is maintained by the system. Manual editing current locations may result in the loss of important information about an item’s status. Only a few SirsiDynix Symphony users have found it necessary to change this configuration to accommodate their work flow.

Click this radio button to prevent users from editing the Current Location field. This setting is recommended by SirsiDynix.
Item Current Location May Be Edited
Click this radio button to permit manual editing of the Current Location field.
The ASSUMELOST and CLAIMSLOST current locations cannot be modified even when the system is configured to allow editing current locations.
