Mark Item Missing Wizard Properties

You can change current system settings in the Mark Item Missing wizard using the Set Properties window. The Mark Item Missing wizard allows you to set the following properties.

Display Property Page

You can choose when to display the Mark Item Missing wizard’s Set Properties window by selecting one of the following options.

Wizard Startup – Displays the Set Properties window the first time you access the wizard until you end the wizard session or log off the client.
Never – Does not display the Set Properties window the first time you access the wizard. If Never is selected and you want to open the Set Properties window, point to the wizard’s toolbar button, right-click, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu.

Depending on the value selected in Display Property Page, defaults may appear as the first step of the wizard. Property values that are changed in the first step of a wizard are retained only until the right-click method is used to set properties.

Behavior

On the Behavior tab, type the missing User ID to whom the items will be charged to in the User ID box. To search for a particular user ID, click the gadget. In a multilibrary system, you can create a missing user ID for each library, and set up the behavior property to charge the items to the correct missing user ID.

If the User ID property is not set, items are charged to the MISSING user ID by default.

If the Proxy Checkout with Cancel Hold property in the Checkout wizard properties is selected in that wizard, the option also appears in the Mark Item Missing wizard.

At End of Wizard

Under At End of Wizard, select one of the following options.

Show Checked Buttons specifies which command buttons display as choices for the wizard’s final step. Under Show, the following options are available. By default, all check boxes are selected.
Mark Another Item Missing returns to the Mark Item Missing window for you to continue marking items.
Close exits the wizard.
Perform Selected Action specifies which action will be automatically performed as the wizard’s final step. Under Perform, select one of the following options to be performed automatically as the wizard’s final step.
Mark Another Item Missing returns to the Mark Item Missing window for you to continue marking items.
Close exits the wizard.

Helpers

On the Helpers tab, you can select the Item Search Helper check box to display this helper with the wizard.

Start with Search Helper — Select this check box to open the Item Search helper automatically as the first step in the Mark Item Missing wizard.
