Inventory Item Wizard Properties

You can change current system settings in the Inventory Item wizard using the Set Properties window. The Inventory Item wizard allows you to set the following properties.

Display Property Page

You can choose when to display the Inventory Item wizard’s Set Properties window by selecting one of the following options.

Wizard Startup – Displays the Set Properties window the first time you access the wizard until you end the wizard session or log off the client.
Never – Does not display the Set Properties window the first time you access the wizard. If Never is selected and you want to open the Set Properties window, point to the wizard’s toolbar button, right-click, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu.

Depending on the value selected in Display Property Page, defaults may display as the first step of the wizard. Property values that are changed in the first step of a wizard are retained only until the right-click method is used to set properties.

Behavior

On the Behavior tab, you can set up your system to allow these variations in the Inventory Item wizard.

Sounds

Select or clear any of the following check boxes.

Play sound for Item Needs Transit alert – Plays a sound during inventory when the Item Needs Transit alert displays.
Play sound for Item in Available Soon Location alert – Plays a sound during inventory when a warning displays to notify you that the item is in the Available Soon location.
Play sound for Item Charged alert – Plays a sound during inventory when the Item Charged alert displays.
Play sound for Item Booked alert – Plays a sound during inventory when the Item Booked alert displays.
Play sound for Transit alert – Plays a sound during inventory when the Route to [Library] alert displays.
Play sound for Hold alert – Plays a sound during inventory when the Hold alert displays.
Play sound for Item on Reserve alert – Plays a sound during inventory when the Item on Reserve alert displays.
Play sound on error – Plays a sound when an error occurs during inventory.

If an item is checked out and has outstanding holds, or if an item is checked out and on reserve, the system only plays the selected Item Charged alert. Similarly, if an item is booked and checked out the Item Booked alert plays.

To specify the sound file that will play for the alerts, click the Select File gadget for the corresponding Play Sound for property. In the Select File dialog box, type or select the sound file (.wav file) you want to play when the alert occurs. These sounds are unselected by default and sound files will need to be manually chosen for each type of alert.

Helpers

On the Helpers tab, you can select the helpers you want to use in the Inventory Item wizard by selecting the check box beside each helper. If you do not want them to display, clear the check boxes. The helpers on this wizard are listed below.
