Confirm Address Wizard

The Confirm Address wizard is used to confirm or update a user address while checking out an item.

To confirm a user’s address

In the Users group, click the Confirm Address wizard.

Do one of the following:

If the User Search helper is set in properties to display as the first step of the wizard, search for the user. The helper will automatically fill in the User ID box with the ID you select using this helper.

In the User ID box, scan the user ID, or click Current to select the most recently displayed user record.

Select the Primary Address option you want. The primary address field specifies which address will be used for mailing notices to users. This field is also used when information is printed by the Debt Collection reports for the collection agency.

Click the Address1, Address2, or Address3 tab to confirm or update address information in the address fields. Each address consists of entry fields, such as City, State, ZIP code, Daytime Phone, and Fax. For more information on these fields, go to User Information Tabs.

Click Confirm Address to save any changes.

Depending on the options selected in the Set Properties window, you can click one of the following options:

Modify Another User Address to modify another user address

•

Make More Changes to Address to make additional changes to this user record

•

Close to exit the Confirm Address wizard

Important Considerations When Using this Wizard

•

If the Current record button displays, the last user record displayed, modified, or added is retained. Click this button to select this user.

•

If the user is blocked, an alert window will appear.

•

If you enter the user’s ID manually, click Get User Information to display the user record.

•

You should designate both a postal address and an email address in the Addresses tab as the primary address. This allows you to send email notices to patrons who want them, and to generate postal address information for collection agencies with the Debt Collection reports if desired.

You can use the Insert Row After and Insert Row Before helpers to add entry fields before or after the Address field in which your insertion point is positioned. Use the Delete Row helper to delete an entry field.

When a user’s record is located, information from the user record displays under User Information. User Information only displays if the Configure Display of User Status Header attribute in the Global Configuration wizard is set to Display User Status Header in Circulation Wizards.
