Create Reservations Wizard

The Create Reservations wizard guides you through the process of creating a reservation. A reservation is a means of ensuring the reserve library material will be available for a specific date and time in the future.

To create a reservation for an item

Click the Create Reservations wizard.

Type or scan the user ID, or use the User Search Helper to locate the user record.

The Item Search window will open. Identify the item for which you want to create a reservation. In the Item Search you have the additional instructor or course search options to identify reserve titles.

If a list of matching items appears, select the correct item in the list, and click Create Reservation.

If the reservations profile associated with the item type of the copy you selected uses fixed time slots, a Create Reservations: Enter Start Date window will display. Type a date or select a date using the Calendar Gadget. Click OK. The Time Slots tab will display. In the Fixed Time Slots box, select a time slot from the drop-down list.

If the reservations profile associated with the item type of the copy does not use fixed time slots, the Calendar Tab will display. On the Calendar tab, select the start and end dates and times for your reservation. Use the Calendar Gadget or the displayed calendar to define a reservation period in the Start Day and End Day boxes. You must also select values from the Start Hour, Start Minute, End Hour, and End Minute lists. Click Create Reservation.

The Reservation Information Tab will display for all reservation profile types. This tab lists the reservations created for this user. In the Pickup At field, select a pickup library from the drop-down list.

Click Continue to add more information to or modify this reservation.

To make recurrent reservations for this item, click the Create Recurrent Reservations next step, make date/time selections on the Calendar tab, and click Add to List. The recurrent reservations will display on the Recurrent Reservations Tab.

After creating a reservation, select one of the following options.

Add Extended Info to add extended information for the reservation record

•

Make More Changes to modify the record you just created.

•

Create Another Reservation to create another reservation for the same user

•

Create Recurrent Reservations to create a reservation of the same material at the same day and time for a specified period

•

Close to exit the wizard

Appropriate reservation policies must have been defined before a reservation can be made.
