WorkFlows Themes

The WorkFlows client can be configured to display in two modes: WorkFlows Classic and WorkFlows Themes. WorkFlows Classic displays the traditional client desktop you are familiar with. WorkFlows Themes displays a new look that is consistent with today’s desktop graphical environment, and provides much faster navigation between SirsiDynix Symphony modules and functions.

In Themes, module buttons appear in the Module bar at the top of the client window. When you click a module button, wizard groups appear as menu items in the wizard toolbar. You open the menus to access the individual wizards. Also, you can change your WorkFlows desktop colors by selecting from a set of preset color palettes. In the Editor pane, wizard, helper, and gadget windows, as well as report windows, display the same in both Classic and Themes. WorkFlows Themes is the default look and feel for the WorkFlows client.

To change to WorkFlows Themes, from the Preference menu, point to Desktop, and select Desktop Setup. In the Themes box, select a theme (or color palette) from the list, and click OK.

When you change from WorkFlows Classic to a theme, you must immediately restart the workstation to use the new theme. If you do not restart the workstation, you may not be able to use the wizards or run reports. However, you do not need to restart the workstation when you change from theme to theme.

Moving About WorkFlows Themes

WorkFlows Themes provides an alternate method for accessing wizards and toolbars. Module buttons appear at the top of the client window in the Module bar just below the Menu bar. Wizard groups appear as menu items in the wizard toolbar, which appears to the left of the Editor pane.

Accessing Module Toolbars – As you hover the cursor over the module buttons in the Module bar, they become available for selection. Click a module button, and wizard group menus appear on the wizard toolbar. Another way to access wizard toolbars is to select Modules from the Menu bar.
Accessing Wizards – The wizard toolbar displays the wizard group menus. To view all wizard group menus, use the scroll bar. To open and close a wizard group menu, click the double-arrow button. When you open a wizard group menu, the available wizards appear in a list. The wizard names appear with their corresponding icons. Hover the cursor over the wizard icons/names in the list, and the wizards become available for selection. Click an underlined wizard name, and the wizard opens.

The Common Tasks group menu displays wizards that do not belong to one specific wizard group. Common Tasks also includes the Item Search and Display wizard, Check Item Status wizard, and the Help and Print buttons.

Wizard group menus and their wizard lists can be modified and rearranged using Toolbar Management.
