Toolbar Management: Toolbar Modification Fields

The following fields may display when toolbars are created or modified using Toolbar Management.

Select a wizard from the list in the Wizard text box, and the other field values automatically fill in.

Type (Toolbars)

The Type field indicates what type of button you are adding. A Wizard type is a particular wizard. A Group type is a group of wizards that display as a secondary toolbar from the main toolbar. A Separator type is an empty space that can be used to visually separate groups of wizards on the main toolbar. You cannot modify or copy a separator.

Aliased Wizard Name

The Aliased Wizard Name field displays the system name for a particular wizard. This field displays only for the Wizard type of toolbar button.

Wizard Group Name

The Wizard Group Name field displays the system name for a particular wizard group. This field displays only for the Group type of toolbar button.

Display Name

The Display Name field indicates the name as it displays in the title bar for a particular wizard. This value may be localized for translation to other languages. This field is required.

Balloon Help Text

The Balloon Help Text field indicates the name as it displays in the balloon help for a wizard when you point to the wizard without clicking. This value may be localized for translation to other languages.

Flyby Help Text

The Flyby Help Text field indicates the name as it displays in the status bar in the lower left hand corner of the window. This value may be localized for translation to other languages.

Wizard

The Wizard field displays the wizard and its associated information. You can select a wizard from the list to add a new wizard or modify the current wizard. This value is not available for the Group type of toolbar button. In addition to wizards, you may select individual policies or reports to add to your toolbar.

Property

The Property field displays the property that is associated with an existing wizard. The first value below in the following example displays in the Wizard field; the second value is the property associated with that wizard.

For example:

Wizard: CheckOutProperty: Wizards.workflows.Circwfs.CheckoutPropertyWizard

Note: The Property value cannot be modified, does not display if the wizard does not have properties that can be set, and is not displayed for the Group type of wizard.

Session Settings

The Session Settings field displays the Session Settings wizard that can affect an existing wizard.

The first value in the following example displays in the Wizard field; the second value is the Session Settings wizard that can affect the listed wizard.

For example:

Wizard:Wizards.workflow.Orderwfs.OrderCreateBasicWizardSession Settings: Wizards.shared.AcqSessionWizard

Note: The Session Settings value cannot be modified, does not display if the wizard is not affecting by selections in a Session Settings wizard, and is not displayed for the Group type of wizard.

Toolbar Image

Each wizard or group on a toolbar is associated with an image. The Toolbar Image field determines the image for the button you are working with or adding. The image is displayed next to the file name. The files that display from the list are in the \Images\Tools directory of the installed client on your workstation.

List of Wizards

The List of Wizards field displays the wizards included in a Group wizard on the toolbar. This option is only available when you are working with Group type wizards.

To add wizards to the list, close the modify window. Right-click the group wizard in the Local or Customized Toolbar File pane, then click Add Wizard. To remove wizards from the group list, open the group wizard tree in the Local or Customized Toolbar File page, right-click on the wizard you want to remove, and click Remove.

Key Sequence

The Key Sequence field allows you to define a function key mapping for a wizard or wizard group. Select a function key, F1 through F12, from the list, or select No Key Mapping. Select either the Alt or Shift check boxes to further define the key sequence for this wizard or wizard group. (The CTRL key cannot be used for a wizard function key mapping.) Click OK to save your changes. If you have selected a function key mapping that is already assigned to another wizard, the template will display a warning message and list the conflicting mapping(s). You can choose to correct the key mapping or not.

To use a mapped function key, press the function key alone or while simultaneously pressing the SHIFT or ALT to begin a wizard.

If a wizard is mapped to a function key, the function key combination will appear next to the wizard name in the balloon help when displaying toolbars in the Toolbar Management window.

For a listing of the default wizard keyboard shortcuts, see Toolbar Wizard Keyboard Shortcuts.

Note: The Key Sequence field is not displayed for the Group type of wizard.

When mapping function keys, it is important to consider the following:

Toolbar Management will not allow you to map the following function keys and key sequences: F1 (Help button), F6, F8, F10, SHIFT+F10, and F4+ALT. These function keys/sequences are reserved for Windows functions.
Characters a through z are the only characters that may be used as shortcut keys.
If there is an existing mapping conflict (because of a copy/paste operation or some other work flow) a warning message will display below the Key Sequence field and will list the conflicting mapping(s). You can choose to change the key mapping or not change the mapping.
