The User Lost Card helper is used to replace a user’s ID by identifying the user, and then entering a new user ID. You may need to replace a user’s barcode if the user’s card was lost or stolen. As the user’s library card and record are updated with a new ID, SirsiDynix Symphony creates a new user record and changes the user profile of the old user record to LOSTCARD.
To replace a user ID because of a lost card
1 | Click the User Lost Card helper to search for the user who lost the card. |
2 | When the user record is located, select the user. If a list displays, select the user you want, and then click Assign New Card. The user’s ID automatically displays in the User ID box, as well as information about the user. |
3 | In the New User ID box, scan or type the new library card ID, and then click Assign New Card. A confirmation message displays that the new card has been issued, and the old user ID has been deactivated. |
When you return to the Checkout wizard or Renew User Charges wizard, the new user ID is entered automatically.
The User Lost Card helper uses the same properties as the User Lost Card wizard.
