Specific Date Helper

The Specific Date helper displays the gadget for selecting a fixed date for the field. The following fixed date options are provided. For some gadget displays, such as the Transaction Date Range, only a range of dates may be selected.

On

Click On, and the data selected will contain the specified date. Use the Calendar gadget to select a date.

Before

Click Before, and the data selected will contain any date prior to the specified date. The date NEVER and the date specified are not included. Use the Calendar gadget to select a date.

After

Click After, and the data selected will contain any date later than the specified date. The date NEVER and the date specified are not included. Use the Calendar gadget to select a date.

Range

Click Range, and the data being selected will fall between and include the two specified dates. Use the Calendar gadget to select a date.

No Date

Click No Date, and the data being selected will have NEVER in the date field. These records have never had a date specified in the field. This is not a useful selection for fields such as Date Created, because this is a date supplied by the system for all existing records that contain a Date Created field.

Any

Click Any, and data will be selected based on the existence of a specified date. Any date that is not NEVER will be selected.

Example: Running the Count Holds Report with a Specific Date Range with an Ending Date in the Future

You want to count the number of holds placed at the Chester Library that have expiration dates between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008. Today’s date (the report run date) is September 5, 2008. One way to select this data for the report is to use the Specific Date helper to select a date range in the Expiration Date field on the Hold Selection tab.

To use a specific date range in the Count Holds report

The report will select hold records that have expiration dates between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008.
