The Number Range gadget selects a range of numbers by using mathematical operators. It sometimes is beneficial to refine a report by using a combination of Number Range gadgets in different fields.
To select a number range

| 3 | Type a number. |
| 4 | Click OK. |
For example, you want to obtain a list of recent orders that require claiming, without bothering with the vendors who have repeatedly ignored the notices you have sent. You could select Less than 2 claims, which will only produce notices for items that have never been claimed, or claimed only once. Be sure to select the appropriate Date to Claim using the Date Range gadget to avoid getting open orders that do not yet require claiming.
Operators
The following operators are available.
Equal To =
A match is returned when the call number in the record matches the first part (of any length) of the specified string. For example, if you search for T73 .A797, the report results might return the following numbers.
T73, T73 .A7, T73 .A79, T73 .A797
Less Than <
The report results will be less than the number specified in the text box. This would be a good selection if you wanted to eliminate ”the most” report results.
Greater Than >
The report results will be more than the number specified in the text box. This would be a good selection if you wanted to focus on ”the most” such as which users have the most charges, or the most bills, or which invoices have the most copies.
Not Equal To < >
The report results will not include the number specified in the text box. You might select Not Equal to 0, if you want to select only those that have been subject to the activity stated in the field.
Between _ and _ x–y
The report results will include numbers falling between the numbers specified in the text boxes. The numbers named in the range are included in the results. (Between 1 and 3 reports results of 1, 2, and 3).
When specifying call numbers, however, the “between _ and _ x-y” operator is used to indicate a non-inclusive value between the end points. Therefore, Between 1 and 3 would report results of just 2 for call numbers.
Do not type 0 as the start of your range. The report will run in error with the following message.
** Operand must be a number –e>–1<9
