Extended Information Tab: Serial Control

Extended Information or Extended Info displays for many different kinds of SirsiDynix Symphony records. These fields include additional information about the record in a set of entry fields, which can be configured by your library. Extended information usually displays in a separate tab. In some display summary tabs, an extended information flag contains a Yes if any Extended Information exists, or No if it does not. In some reports, extended information may used to select and/or output records.

When extended information is created, entries can be added or deleted using Create First Row Helper, Insert Row Before Helper, Insert Row After Helper, and Delete Row Helper.

In Serial Control wizards, the Extended Information tab displays the following fields.

The following fields are defined for the Extended Info tab for Serials.

Physform

This field describes the physical form, medium, or types of material pertaining to the serial control record. Each entry may be any number of lines, such as:

Name

This field describes the name or title appearing on the issues associated with the serial control. This field may contain the Name of Unit as described in MARC21 Holdings Format 844$a. You may change the label for this field. Each entry may be any number of lines, such as:

Note

This field contains a note to be added to the serial control record information. Each entry may be any number of lines.
