Loaded Bib Files Tab: MARC Import Utility Wizard
The Loaded Bib Files tab in the MARC Import Utility wizard allows you to view or copy bibliographic record files that have been imported, and to remove obsolete bibliographic data backup files.

Sorting the List of Bibliographic Data Backup Files
The list of bibliographic data backup files can be sorted to make it easier to find the file you want to view, copy, or remove.
To sort the list of bibliographic data backup files

In the MARC Import Utility wizard, click the Loaded Bib Files tab. |

Select one of the following Sort By options. |
|

Date sorts the files by date in ascending order. |
|
•
|
Library Policy Number sorts the list by the each library’s library policy number in ascending order. To see a list of Library Policy numbers, names, and descriptions, click the Library Policy Number helper. |
|

New or Review file sorts the list by the n file type first, and then the r file type. Each group of sorted n or r files are then sorted by date within the group, in ascending order. |
Viewing Bibliographic Data Backup Files
To select and view bibliographic data backup files

In the MARC Import Utility wizard, click the Loaded Bib Files tab. |

Under File List, a list of bibliographic data backup files for MARC records that were successfully loaded either directly into the catalog or for review appears. Bibliographic data backup files are in MARC format, and are stored in the
/Unicorn/Marcimport/Bibbackup directory. Select a file in the list, and click View. |

In the File Type option, do one of the following. |

Click MARC to display records in MARC format. |
|
•
|
Click Sirsi Flat to display records in text format. |
|

Click OK. Your word processing package starts, and the file in text format or MARC format appears. |

When you have finished viewing the file, close the word processor window. |
|

Click Cancel if you want to exit the MARC Import Utility wizard. |
Copying Bibliographic Data Backup Files
You can copy a bibliographic data backup file from the
/Unicorn/Marcimport/Bibbackup directory to the /Unicorn/Marcimport directory so the bibliographic records can be loaded into the catalog.
To copy a bibliographic data backup file

In the MARC Import Utility wizard, click the Loaded Bib Files tab. |

Under File List, a list of bibliographic data backup files appears. Select a file, and click Copy. |
|

Click Cancel if you want to exit the MARC Import Utility wizard. |
Removing Obsolete Bibliographic Data Backup Files
To conserve disk space, all bibliographic data backup files should be removed after a full system backup is performed.
To remove a bibliographic data backup file

In the MARC Import Utility wizard, click the Loaded Bib Files tab. |
|

Under File List, a list of bibliographic data backup files appears. Select a file, and click Remove. |
|
3
|
Click Cancel if you want to exit the MARC Import Utility wizard. |
