Load Properties Wizard

When the WorkFlows session begins, startup property values configured by the SirsiDynix Symphony Administrator are downloaded from the SirsiDynix Symphony server to the workstation. The Load Properties wizard is used primarily to retrieve from the server a set of property values related to a specific task, and to load the property values onto the workstation for temporary use. The property values downloaded to the workstation using the Load Properties wizard are discarded when the user exits the WorkFlows session.

For example, a member of the Cataloging department frequently catalogs books and videos. The SirsiDynix Symphony Administrator has already created two property files as follows:

The bookprop file contains cataloging properties frequently used while cataloging books.

The videoprop file contains cataloging properties frequently used while cataloging videotapes.

The cataloger plans to create catalog records for books for a few hours. She loads the bookprop file, and adds catalog records for the books. The cataloger then wants to add a number of catalog records for videotapes. She loads the videoprop file, and begins cataloging the videotapes.

To load a set of wizard properties from a property file for temporary use

On the System Utility toolbar, click the Load Properties wizard.

In the Select the property file you want to work with list, select the name of the property file that contains the property settings you want.

Click Load. The customized property file is downloaded to your workstation.

Click Close to exit the Load Properties wizard.
