Siblings Tab

Certain publications cannot be purchased or subscribed to directly. Instead, the library must become a member of the organization that produces the publication, usually a serial or periodical. Often membership includes receipt of more than one journal. Sometimes membership privileges include discounts on the organizations other publications.

The membership order itself may not be linked to bibliographic information in the catalog, but may be described in the additional order line text fields. If serial publications come with the membership, they should be cataloged and checked in through serial control records linked to the membership order line. When multiple titles are received through a single membership order, these titles are called siblings, meaning that these publications have a common parent, which is the membership order.

Additional titles linked to the same membership order via the Subscription tab will appear in a table on the Siblings tab.
