The Binding tab contains fields that will be used to indicate specifics about a title for which you want to have issues bound. This information may also be used to schedule Serial Group reports and determine when binding activities need to take place for specified titles.
The Binding tab includes the following information.
• | Binding Title |
• | Color |
• | Copies to Bind |
• | Date Sent to Bindery |
• | Date to Bind |
• | Material |
• | Number to Bind |
• | Type of Binding |
The following fields are defined for the Binding tab.
The Binding Title field is an optional note field, 40 characters long, which may contain instructions to library staff or the binding agent about the bound volume title. In cases where the complete title cannot fit on the spine or when titles are bound using a title other than the title in the 245 tag entry, this field may be used to record the title for binding.
For example:
Ladies/Home/Journal/MON/YEAR/to/MON/YEAR
The Color field is an optional note field up to 40 characters long, which may contain instructions to library staff or the binding agent concerning the color of the binding and/or the color of the ink used on the binding cover.
The Copies to Bind field may contain the number of copies which should be collected and bound in physical volumes.
The Date Sent to Bindery field may contain the date issues were sent to the bindery. Use the Calendar Gadget to define the bindery date.
The Date to Bind field may contain the next date to collect issues for binding. After issues are collected, the date must be updated to the next collection date with the Modify Serial Control wizard. Use the Calendar Gadget to define the binding date.
The Material field is an optional note field which may be up to 40 characters long and may contain instructions to library staff or the binding agent about the type of binding material to use.
The Number to Bind field may contain the number of issues which should be collected and bound in a single physical volume.
The Type of Binding field is an optional note field which may be up to 40 characters long. This field may contain instructions to library staff or the binding agent. In cases where the library binds materials in different ways, such as hard bound or spiral bound, this field may also be used.
