FAQs: Discharging Booked Items

What do I do if I see the “Item not found in catalog” message?

The following message appears if the item ID was scanned or typed incorrectly in the Item ID box in the Discharge Booking window.

This command cannot continue because:Item not found in catalog

Scan or type the item ID again in the Item ID box, and verify that the item ID is correct.

What do I do if I see the “Item not charged” message?

The following message appears if the item ID that was scanned or typed in the Item ID box in the Discharge Booking window is for an item that is not currently checked out to any user.

This command cannot continue because:Item not charged

Scan or type the item ID again in the Item ID box, and verify that the item ID is correct.

What do I do if I see the “Warning!!! This item is a claims or assumed lost item” message?

The following message appears if the user returns a booked item that has been marked as Lost by the Mark Item Lost wizard or the Assumed Lost report.

This command cannot continue because:Warning!!! This item is a claims or assumed lost item.

The Discharge Booking wizard will not permit the booking to be checked in. You will be returned to the Discharge Booking window or the list of booked items to select another item, or click Close to exit the wizard.

If the item has been marked as lost in error, you can use the Discharge/Checkin wizard to check in the booked item. You must type an override code in the Lost Item Override box and click Override & Discharge to discharge the item from the user.

If the user had not paid the lost item bill by the time the item is discharged, the lost item bill is removed from the user record. If the item is overdue, the overdue fine is calculated and added to the user record.

Are booking cleanup times recalculated when booked items are checked in?

Yes. When a booking with a cleanup period is checked in, the cleanup time may be recalculated when the item is discharged.

The cleanup time may be recalculated as follows:

If the recalculated cleanup time on a booking does not conflict with an upcoming booking, the cleanup period is recalculated from the time of discharge.
If the recalculated cleanup time on a overdue booking will conflict with an upcoming booking, the cleanup time is shortened to match the start of the upcoming booking.
If a booking is discharged after the start time of an upcoming booking, the cleanup time is shortened to match the time of discharge.
If a booking is renewed, or the due date is modified, the end cleanup time is recalculated from the new due date/time.
