User Address Format Wizards

Address Format policies control the display, editing, data validation, and indexing of all address fields in every type of record used in SirsiDynix Symphony. A format is a list of entries allowed to be used by a given type of record, along with the characteristics of each entry. The USERADDR1, USERADDR2, and USERADDR3 policies are used for defining the user address formats. USERADDR1 is typically the user’s primary address.

The New User Registration, Modify User, and Copy User wizards display address fields for you to add user address information. Three addresses are allowed. You can modify the format of these fields using the User Address Format wizards.

Click a User Address Format wizard, and the following tabs display. Modify attributes in these tabs as needed.

The User Address 2 and User Address 3 formats use the same entries as User Address 1, except Parent’s Name and Address Note.

The entries listed in the Brief Entries attribute of the User Address formats are used to supply information for the address fields in a pipe-delimited output file for notices. The City/State field (if it is used) is evaluated as one field, not as two separate fields for the city and the state.
