Report Wizard

The SirsiDynix Symphony administrator may select or clear prompting in the scheduling phase of reports for the following features.

Automatic printing of finished reports
Automatic emailing of finished reports
Automatic emailing of notices

To display the current configuration settings for the Report module, click the Report wizard icon. The Report Policy window appears. In this window you can modify the policy attributes. Click Save to save your changes, or click Close to exit the wizard.

Attributes

The Report wizard displays the following attributes.

Description

This attribute provides more information about the policy and its use by the library. The description may be up to 60 characters in length. Although the Description attribute may contain spaces and punctuation, the pipe character (|) cannot be used.

Allow Direct Printing

This attribute specifies whether a user should be prompted as part of the scheduling process to allow automatic printing of a finished report once it has finished running.

Important: It is recommended that you do not set up a report to print automatically to an unattended printer. If the printer has a paper jam, is offline, or for any reason is unable to complete the print job, SirsiDynix can offer no recovery procedures.

Allow Direct Email

This attribute specifies whether a user should be prompted as part of the scheduling process to allow automatic emailing of a finished report once it has finished running.

Allow Emailing of Notices

This attribute specifies whether a user should be prompted as part of the scheduling process of a report to allow automatic emailing of notices to users or vendors with email addresses in their user records. If selected, this prompt will only appear when scheduling reports that produce notices, such as the Bill and Overdue reports.

Allow Sender’s Email Address

This attribute specifies whether or not the sender’s email address will appear in emailed finished reports and automatic notices. By default, this attribute is cleared.

Note: For some hardware platforms, such as SOLARIS SPARC, the UNIX mail utility delivered with the operating system does not support sending the sender’s email address. Check with your hardware provider to see if this functionality is supported for your hardware platform, and configure the Report policy accordingly.

Use Same-Line ZIP Codes

This attribute specifies whether you want the address zip code to appear on the same line as city and state, or on its own separate line when printing a notice. When the attribute is set to ON, the zip code will appear on the same line as city and state. By default, this attribute is set to OFF.
