Item Extended Information Format Wizard

Extended Information Format policies control the display, editing, and data validation of all extended information fields in every type of record used in SirsiDynix Symphony. A format is a list of entries allowed to be used by a given type of record, along with the characteristics of each entry. The ITEMXINFO Format policy is used to define the Item Extended Information entries.

Only one item extended information format is delivered. You cannot create, copy, or remove this format.

Item extended information, such as comments and notes, can be added to item records. If tagged as public notes, they will display to the public in the single item view in the e-Library. If tagged as staff notes, they will only display in WorkFlows to library staff. In a future version of SirsiDynix Symphony, notes tagged as circulation notes will display to library staff when an item is charged or discharged.

Cataloging wizards, such as Add Items, Edit Items, and Call Number/Item Maintenance, allow you to add extended information to item records. The Call Number/Item tab displays the Extended Information fields when displaying the item record in cataloging wizards and in the Item Search and Display wizard. You can modify the format of these fields using the Item Extended Information Format wizard.

Click the Item Extended Information Format wizard, and the following tabs appear. Modify attributes on these tabs as needed.

The following Item Extended Information Format entries are delivered.
