EDI Address Format Wizard

Address Format policies control the display, editing, data validation, and indexing of all address fields in every type of record used in SirsiDynix Symphony. A format is a list of entries allowed to be used by a given type of record, along with the characteristics of each entry.

The VEDIADDR or Vendor EDI Address policy is used for defining the vendor electronic data interchange (EDI) address entries. EDI addresses are used by the Acquisitions and Serial Control modules for sending electronic orders and claims to vendors.

The Create Vendor, Duplicate Vendor, and Edit Vendor wizards allow you to add EDI Address information to the vendor records. You can modify the format of the EDI Address fields using the EDI Address Format wizard.

Click the EDI Address Format wizard, and the following tabs appear.

For a list of delivered Vendor EDI Address formats, go to FAQs: Getting Started with EDI.

For more information about the delivered EDI Address entries and how to set up a vendor’s EDI address, go to “How Do I Create a Vendor Address Format policy?” in FAQs: Creating and Modifying Address Formats.

Using EDI (X12) for ordering is different from using the SirsiDynix Symphony MARC Order Loader for 9XX ordering. For more information, see FAQs: Comparing X12 and 9XX Ordering.
