Accountability Configuration Wizards

Any document containing classified information, determined by the library’s security guidelines, is accountable material. Primarily, the Accountability module restricts certain library users from viewing or checking out particular items. Before an item can be checked out, SirsiDynix Symphony references all restrictions associated with that item, such as Access Restriction, Clearance, and Need to Know. The library user must be associated with an Access Restriction, Clearance, and Need to Know level equal to or higher than the item. These restriction levels are determined by the Accountability policies.

The Accountability policies also allow the library to monitor library materials in the following ways.

Receipts for controlled materials can be created and tracked.
Inventories of controlled material can be created based on user record characteristics.
Documents can be reclassified.
The destruction of classified information can be tracked.

Accountability configuration wizards are available only to staff who are accountability operators.

Click the Accountability Configuration wizard group button to display the following wizards.

Policy lists and policy values can be downloaded to files on your workstation. See the Export Policies Helper topic for more information.

Only one user at a time can work with policies. This is a safeguard to prevent users from modifying the same policy at the same time.
