The following fields are default properties for the User wizards.

Identifies an optional, numeric statistical category that shows the user’s complete birth date. Because the field is optional, it can be configured not to display.
This field is an optional, free-text statistical category that the library decides how to use. The label can be named something other than Department, and can be configured not to display.
The Language field is required. Select a language from the drop-down list. Notices sent to the user will be in the specified language. The languages presented in this list are defined in the Language policy.
Library field values are defined in the Library policies set up by your SirsiDynix Symphony System Administrator. At the basic level, this field determines the library where an item is held, and where the user is registered in a multilibrary setting. The Library field does not display in a single library system.
The Library field is used throughout SirsiDynix Symphony in various ways. Additionally, other field names include the word Library.
Note: In Offline WorkFlows, the Library you select will be the library associated with transactions that are ultimately loaded.
This field allows you select whether Address1, Address2, or Address3 is the primary address. The primary address is used for mailing notices to users. The primary address field is also used in Debt Collection reports to produce user and address information for collection agencies. If a library uses email addresses to send notices to patrons and wants to use Debt Collection reports, SirsiDynix recommends that you include both a postal address and an email address in the primary address folder. This allows the library to send email notices to patrons, and to generate postal address information required by collection agencies.
Note: In properties, this field is referred to as Primary Address Flag.
This field contains a User Profile policy name. When creating a user, this field is required. The User Profile policy determines the user’s privileges. For example, STUDENT might be used as a User Profile policy name. This field also determines the user’s loan period and fine rate.
These demographic fields contain values from the User Categories policies. Your library decides what type of information will be used in these fields and labels them appropriately; for example, you can label a field Major. The generic SirsiDynix Symphony labels for these fields are User Cat1, User Cat2, UserCat3, UserCat4, User Cat5, UserCat6, UserCat7, UserCat8, UserCat9, UserCat10, UserCat11, and UserCat12.
