Replace Fundings & Distributions Helper

Frequently, acquisitions departments (particularly in consortia) will order the same number of copies of a title over and over again, but the copies may always be funded and/or distributed in the same way each time. The Replace Fundings & Distributions helper, in conjunction with the Order Map Wizard, is used to supply pattern templates for fundings and distributions, and acquisitions staff can simply select the appropriate order map template to create a pattern of fundings and distributions for that number of copies in a single step.

When fundings and distributions are defined for an orderline using order wizards, the Replace Fundings & Distributions helper appears. The helper allows you to select an order map template for a particular number of copies. Only the order maps that are appropriate to the acquisitions maintenance library you have specified in Session Settings are available for selection. If any are defined, a list order maps appears, displaying the name of each Order Map policy and the number of copies. Maps available for selection may be created with as little or as much funding/distribution information as possible. For instance, you may have a 10-copy distribution that does not contain any funding information at all, or you may have several 10-copy distributions to handle multiple funding situations. If more information is typed in the order map template, then less needs to be typed at the workstation.

The Replace Fundings & Distributions helper may be selected at any time when the fundings/distributions Segment tree is displayed.

If an order is placed with a specified number of copies, you may be prompted to select the order map containing that number of copies.
If only one order map matches, the list of fundings and distributions from that order map becomes the default for the orderline.
If no order maps match the number of copies being ordered, default funding/distribution values from the wizard properties will be used. However, the helper will be available, and you may choose the most closely matching order map and use it as a starting point for the funding/distribution selections.

If you selected Sum Funded Quantities on the Orderline tab, there is no orderline quantity to be used with quantity matching, and Quantity Matching for Order Maps is disabled. You may use the Replace Fundings & Distributions helper to select an order map from a list.
