Accountability Tab: Title

The Accountability tab for titles displays only if your library is configured with the Accountability module.

The Accountability tab contains the following fields, which provide security information about accountable items. Items may have multiple access restriction and need to know assignments, and so these fields may be repeated on this tab.

The following fields are defined for the accountability tab.

Access Restriction

This field indicates the information category that the user is restricted to using. This field is the second level of security, after Clearance, that a user must meet before checking out accountable materials. The information categories are based on library-specified policies. See the Restrict Wizard for more information.

Classification

This field indicates the classification required by this title. The title classification determines if an accountability operator may check out the item to a user. Classifications are defined in the Clearance Wizard. Examples of classification levels include CONF, NONE, SECRET, TOP-SECRET, and UNCLASS.

Note: This field is required to create an accountability record.

Need to Know

This field indicates the type of information the user is allowed to access. This field is the third level of security, after Clearance and Access Restriction, the user must meet before checking out accountable materials in the assigned subject area. The need to know categories are based on library-specified policies. See the Need to Know Wizard for more information.
